It’s going to be a fun week ahead! Of course, Monday is Halloween; I’m putting on a haunted house at Ecole Sir John Franklin High School, which should keep me busy throughout most of the day. I plan on passing out treats to the little ones Halloween night. Have I mentioned this is one of my favorite times of the year?

Perhaps the more exciting thing coming up this week is my trip to Vancouver. On Thursday I’ll depart YK for Vancouver for a national debating tournament being hosted at UBC. I will be gone only for four days.

Now that the ‘Win What You Want’ contest is over, I can say with certainty it has been one of the funnest! Over the past three weeks, we’ve been taking qualifiers for four great prizes: $1000 in home heating fuel from Midnight Petroleum, $3000 in furniture from Quality Furniture, a round trip for two to Edmonton with Canadian North , and $1000 cash from Mix 100.

The draw is happening on Monday (Halloween!!). Good luck to everyone who has qualified!

Happy October! Not really sure where September went, but October is here and I guess one indication of that is the snow that’s falling outside right now.
I am so not use to snow in October. In Nova Scotia, typically our first snowfall is in December!
You see, I’d be perfectly fine with snow right now if it weren’t for the new house my family is building. We had planned to finish the exterior before the snow started to fly, but as we’ve learned.. Contractors are sometimes hard to get. The foundation is nearly done; we’re putting the finishing touches on it so we can begin framing the house soon. Let’s hope I’m all moved in by mid-winter!
